Wake Forest at Virginia (-1.5) - 4:00pm Pacific
This one sets up very nicely for Virginia. The Cavaliers are 1-3 in ACC play and are in need of a win. Wake Forest comes in at 2-1 in ACC play and is fresh off two big wins at home over Maryland & Georgia Tech. All three of Virginia's conference losses have been on the road (at NC State, at Duke, at Clemson) and they played very well at Duke and lost by just a point last Saturday at Clemson. They are coming off a bad looking loss at instate rival Virginia Tech. That was clearly a letdown game for them and simply gives them added value tonight. Wake Forest's winning conference record can simply be attributed to a more favorable schedule as they have played two of three ACC games at home so far. They lost their lone ACC road game badly by 19 at Duke.

Virginia is a perfect 7-0 at home this season. Guard Majestic Mapp who has missed almost two full seasons due to four surgeries for injuries has recently seen playing time. He played a season high six minutes vs Va Tech. His talent alone is enough to make an impact but even more importantly right now he is providing the team with an emotional lift, especially in home games where fans have been very supportive of him.

Wake will be playing their first road game without freshman guard Justin Gray who has missed the last two games (both at home) with a broken jaw. Before the injury, Gray had been third on the team in minutes played, fourth in scoring, first in assists and first in assist to turnover ratio among regulars. He was instrumental in the teams two road wins at Wisconsin (20 points) and at Richmond (19 points). His scoring & ball handling will surely be missed tonight.

These two teams are really pretty even. The home team should be giving at least 5-6 points. All signs point to Virginia. They are 100% healthy, playing at home, and they need the game much more. It will show on the court.
