Added Info Report - Week 8

About this report: The added info report will be sent out each Friday night. This report includes pertinent injuries, suspensions, and other handicapping information.

 
ACC

Boston College – Starting quarterback Matt Ryan (foot) has been downgraded to expected to miss Saturday vs Florida State. Kicker Ryan Ohliger has been reinstated from suspension.

Clemson – Senior RB Reggie Merriweather (ankle) has missed last 3 games but is probable Saturday. Top WR Chaunsi Stuckey (foot) has missed last few games and remains doubtful.

Florida State – Starting linebacker Geno Hayes and defensive end Alex Boston (undisclosed) are doubtful to play. Starting cornerback Tony Carter (knee) and defensive tackle Emmanuel Dunbar (back) are questionable. Tight end Brandon Warren (hamstring) is listed as doubtful. Linebacker Derek Nicholson (knee) is out for the season after injuring himself against North Carolina State two weeks ago, while fellow linebacker Jae Thaxton missed last week’s game against Duke and is questionable.

Miami (FL) – Starting linebacker Job Beason tore his MCL last week against FIU and is likely out for the rest of the year. 12 players are suspended for the Duke game, including starting punter Brian Monroe, starting cornerback Randy Phillips and starting safety Brandon Merriweather.

North Carolina State – Starting LB James Martin (wrist) has missed last few games and is expected to miss Saturday vs Maryland. Starting defensive tackle DeMario Pressley (wrist) is questionable.

Virginia Tech – Wide receiver Josh Hyman remains out due to suspension.

Big 12

Baylor – #3 WR Terrance Parks has been suspended and kicked off the team.

Colorado – Starting free safety J.J. Billingsley has missed last two games and remains out Saturday vs Oklahoma.

Iowa State – Starting CB DeAndre (knee) is out for the season.

Missouri – Starting safety Brandon Massey has been suspended indefinitely for breaking team rules. Cornerback Domonique Johnson (abdominal) has missed last few games and remains doubtful Saturday.

Oklahoma – Heisman candidate RB Adrian Peterson is expected to miss at least 4-6 weeks. Star LB Rufus Alexander is questionable Saturday pending possible suspension.

Oklahoma State – Linebacker Chris Collins (knee) left last week’s game against Kansas and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Texas – Starting secondary mates Marcus Griffin (ankle) and cornerback Tarell Brown (foot) have both missed the past couple games but are probable Saturday. Starting DT Frank Okam (knee) made the trip to Lincoln but remains questionable.

Texas Tech – Starting WR Robert Johnson (suspension) missed last game but has been reinstated.

Big East

Cincinnati – Starting DT Tony Carvitti (knee) is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Louisville – Starting DE Zach Anderson (knee) will miss 2-3 weeks.

South Florida – Starting OG Jake Griffin (foot) has missed last few games and is doubtful Sunday. Wide out Marcus Edwards missed last game against with a concussion and is questionable to play this week.

Big Ten

Iowa – Starting wide out Dominique Douglas injured his knee last week at Indiana and is doubtful to play this Saturday at Michigan. However, both offensive tackle Dace Richardson and number one tailback Albert Young were upgraded to probable for the game against the Wolverines. Both are recovering from leg injuries. Starting offensive lineman Rafael Eubanks is expected to miss the game with a knee injury.

Michigan – Starting tight end Tyler Ecker missed UM’s last game and is questionable for the Hawkeyes while wide out Mario Manningham is still out with his knee injury. Manningham has been one of the nation’s top receivers and should be back for the Ohio State game.

Michigan State –Starting quarterback Drew Stanton left last week’s game against Ohio State but is probable to play this week with a neck injury. Both offensive tackle Mike Gyetvai and top wide out Matt Trannon missed last week and are again unlikely to play this weekend. Cornerback Greg Cooper suffered a concussion but is probable to suit it and play, while linebacker David Heron is still questionable with a neck injury.

Northwestern – Starting tailback Tyrell Sutton has been hampered by a bad shoulder but has been upgraded to probable for this weekend. Both offensive tackle Austin Matthews and linebacker Eddie Simpson remain questionable to play with their respective injuries.

Ohio State – Starting defensive tackle David Patterson missed last weekend against Michigan State and is again doubtful to play this week against Indiana.

Pac-10

Arizona – Starting quarterback Willie Tuitama is expected to miss another game because of his concussion. The backup quarterback Adam Austin left last week against Stanford with a knee injury and is out indefinitely. Third string signal caller Kris Heavner is expected to start this Saturday for the Wildcats.

California – Offensive lineman Scott Smith missed the past few games and is still questionable to play this week against Washington.

Oregon – Starting tailback Jonathan Stewart is expected to start despite an ankle injury. Starting wide out Cameron Colvin is questionable to play with an iffy hamstring. Kicker Paul Martinez left last week’s game against UCLA and remains questionable, as well as offensive lineman Josh Tschirgi.

Oregon State – Free safety Al Afalava suffered a concussion and is downgraded to doubtful for this weekend. Offensive tackle Josh Linehan is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a knee injury.

Stanford – Star receiver Evan Moore has missed the past couple of games but has been upgraded to questionable this week. Starting quarterback Trent Edwards was lost for the year with a foot injury last week. Backup signal caller T.C. Ostrander is probable to play. Offensive guard Jon Cochran is out indefinitely with illness.

UCLA – With starting quarterback Ben Olsen still out, Pat Cowan is expected to make another start. Wide out Joe Cowan injured his knee and could redshirt this season.

USC – Wide receiver Chris McFoy (5th on team in receiving) suffered a shoulder injury and is out the next 4-6 weeks.

Washington – Starting quarterback Isaiah Stanback suffered a serious foot injury against Oregon State last week and is out for the remainder of the season. Huskies backup Carl Bonnell is expected to start in his place against Cal. Secondary mates Dashon Goldson and C.J. Wallace were setback, but could both see time this weekend. Goldson, a cornerback, was upgraded to probable with his ankle while safety Wallace is still questionable to play.

Washington State – Starting WR Chris Jordan and TE Cody Boyd are unlikely to play Saturday. Defensive end Mike Graise left last week’s game and is expected to miss. Reserve quarterback Gary Rogers is doubtful with a shoulder injury. Although Alex Brink starts, Rogers has seen time this year.

SEC

Arkansas –Starters cornerback Darius Vinnett and wide out Cedric Washington left last game and will likely miss this weekend’s game with concussions.

Auburn – Top SEC back Kenny Irons is expected to see limited duty this weekend due to a toe injury. The backfield also suffers a loss as fullback Carl Stewart is doubtful to play.

Georgia – True freshman Matt Stafford is expected to start at quarterback this week. Starting running back Thomas Brown is out for the year after suffering a knee injury last weekend, same as top fullback Des Williams with a shoulder injury. Starting tight end Martrez Milner is as well expected to miss this weekend with a tibia injury. Wide out A.J. Bryant is probable to play with a sore groin. Center Nick Jones is doubtful to play with a knee injury.

Kentucky – Starting running back Rafael Little remains out with a knee injury. Defensive lineman Ricky Abren missed last week with a wrist injury and is questionable for this week.

Ole Miss – True freshman wide out Dexter McCluster suffered a concussion and missed last week’s game and is questionable for this weekend. McCluster leads the team in receptions and receiving yards. Starting tight end Robert Lane missed last week as well and is also questionable.

South Carolina – Offensive guard Jake Griffin has missed the last few games with a foot injury and is doubtful to play this weekend. Wide out Marcus Edwards missed last weekend because of a concussion and is questionable this weekend against Vandy.

Florida International – The Golden Panthers have suspended the 18 players following last week's brawl with Miami.

Fresno State – Starting wide out Joe Fernandez has been listed as questionable with a hip injury. Starting quarterback Tom Brandstater left last week’s game against Hawaii and his backup Sean Norton is expected to start this Saturday at LSU.

Hawaii – Starting wide receiver Ryan Grice-Mullins has missed the last three games and is doubtful for this weekend. Starting nose tackle Michael Lafaele has been upgraded to probable with his finger injury.

Memphis – The wide receiving core is still going to be hurting this week. Antonio McCoy has missed the last two games and is questionable. Earnest Williams was injured last weekend but is probable with a knee injury. And Maurice Jones has been suspended indefinitely. Safety Rod Smith is out for the year with a neck injury while his counterpart Wesley Smith is questionable with a thigh injury.

Navy – Starting quarterback Brain Hampton suffered a season-ending injury last weekend against Rutgers when he tore his ACL and dislocated his knee.

New Mexico State- Top receiver Aikeem Jolla has been upgraded to probable for this week’s match-up against Hawaii. Jolla, a Miami transfer, has only played limited minutes in one game this season.

San Diego State – Starting quarterback Kevin O’Connell (thumb) and starting running back Lynell Hamilton (knee) returned to practice this week but both remain doubtful. O'Connell has been out since the season opener.

Southern Mississippi – Top running back Damion Fletcher is out indefinitely with a knee injury.
