Wisconsin at Michigan (+2.5) - 11:00am
Pacific
The Wolverines are amidst a critical four game homestand that
will decide their postseason fortune. They kicked it off with
a 23 point blow out win over Penn State and now host big games
vs Wisconsin and Michigan State. A sweep of these two games
would put them right in the hunt for an NCAA birth. A split
would put them on the bubble. Michigan played very well in
first meeting in Madison, trailing by just one at halftime
despite injuries to starting point guard Horton and starting
center Sims that forced each to leave the game for periods of
the first half. Also in that game Wisconsin got a career high
17 points from walk-on Clayton Hanson off the bench to help
them stay close and eventually pull away in the 2nd half.
The Badgers are just 2-3 straight up and 1-4 ATS in Big 10
road games. Their two wins came at Ohio State by 12 and at
Iowa by just 2 points. Overall they are 3-6 ATS in road
games. They are coming off a loss at Illinois in which the
Illini were able to avenge an earlier 20 point road loss.
Michigan will be seeking to avenge an earlier road loss today
as well. This will be the Badgers 2nd straight road game and
fourth road game in last five overall.
A two point loss to Indiana is still Michigan's only blemish
at home this year. They own home wins over NC State, UCLA,
Iowa, and Purdue. They showed they could play with Wisconsin
on the road in first meeting this season and also beat the
Badgers by a point here last season. There is enough talent
on this team to compete with any Big 10 opponent, particularly
here at home.
