Fresno State at Louisiana Tech (+1) - 6:00pm Pacific
Big showcase game for Louisiana Tech football as they play their first nationally televised game ever at 34 year old Aillet Stadium. They have gone 103-37-2 all time here. La Tech won the WAC title last season finishing 7-1 in conference games, but this year could not recover from an unfavorable early season schedule and never got going. The Bulldogs played four consecutive road games at one point that started with visits to Penn State & Texas A&M. They also visited Clemson two weeks prior to that. It is no wonder they went winless (0-7) on the road. More importantly, they were a perfect 4-0 at home this season (includes wins over Oklahoma State & Nevada) and that is where they are playing tonight. Tech has won 9 straight home games since a loss to UCF in 2000.

Fresno does not have much to play for tonight. They are already guaranteed a spot in the Silicon Valley Bowl vs a Pac-10 team on New Year's Eve. This is a huge factor for a team that thrives on motivation. Fresno is just 2-4 in road games this year and both wins were life and death by 3 at Rice, and by 3 at San Jose State. They trailed both games in the 4th quarter. Fresno's dominant team (led by David Carr) last year only beat La Tech by only 10 points and that was in Fresno with the help of a +3 turnover ratio.

Louisiana Tech's defense not quite as bad as they look as they have been hurt by a -11 turnover ratio this season. QB Luke McCown led offense has put up 45 points per game in home games this year. Both teams had BYE weeks, but La Tech figures to have been much more focused during the off time with much more incentive to play well tonight. Ride the home team Bulldogs to victory tonight.
