Oklahoma State at Iowa State (+2.5) -
10:45am Pacific
This is an important game for the Cyclones. They have to be
considered one of the biggest Jekyl and Hyde teams in the
country. At home they are great, 12-0 overall, 4-0 in Big 12
games. On the road they are a different story, 1-5 overall,
0-3 in Big 12 play. Fortunately for us, this game is being
played in Ames, Iowa. The Cyclones have already beaten the
likes of Xavier, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas here
this season. I see no reason why they cannot continue their
success against Oklahoma State.
I have not been very impressed by the Cowboys this year. They
have played four conference games on the road this year. They
were beaten soundly by 21 at Texas Tech and were extremely
fortunate to escape with a one point win at Kansas State after
trailing big throughout the course of the game. Since then
they did get a solid 5 point win at Texas but that was a best
case scenario followed by a win at Texas A&M. The Cowboys
have been outrebounded in two straight games since win at
Texas. Having played at Texas A&M on Tuesday, this will be OSU's
first back to back road game situation of the season. The
Cowboys will be hosting a big showdown with Kansas on Monday
and it will it is unlikely they will play their best vs Iowa
State today.
Iowa State's freshman guards Stinson and Blalock continue to
impress. They have not looked much like freshman all season.
Center Jared Homan missed the loss at Baylor three games ago
with an ankle injury but came back to average 16.0ppg,
10.5rpg, and 6.5bpg in next two wins earning FoxSports
national player of the week honors. Cyclones have won 7
straight Big 12 games at home. Expect the trend to continue.
