Right Angle Sports - NCAA Basketball - 3/13/08
Pacific vs UC Irvine (+1.5) - 8:20pm Pacific - Game #895-896
Irvine is playing nearly as well as anyone in the conference, winning 7 of their last 9 games. During the stretch they won on the road at #1 seed UCSB and beat #2 seed CSUN convincingly at home. They opened up a 17 point halftime lead and cruised to an easy win over Long Beach State last night in round one. Much improved guard play has made a big difference down the stretch. Meanwhile, senior F Fells and senior G/F Sanders are two of the best players in the league who both will be making their final go around here. Pacific has been inconsistent all season and their recent four game win streak can be credited more to an easy schedule than anything else. The Tigers lost by 15 at Irvine in mid February. Not only is Irvine the closest school in the conference to the Anaheim Convention Center which should give them some home court advantage, but this will also be their 6th time playing here this season giving them a big familiarity edge in what is a quirky venue. Expect an outright win here.
