The Blue Hens clearly took a step forward when transfers Ledsome and Egerson joined the team after the first semester. Delaware started CAA play at 5-0 which included two road wins and wins over George Mason and Old Dominion. Untimely poor free throw shooting helped blow a 10 point second half lead in one point home loss to pesky Georgia State last time out. That leaves them at 1-3 in last four games and somewhat undervalued in this spot, but Georgia State has played everyone close of late and that game followed a tough three game road trip. The Blue Hens should have their legs under them tonight as they play consecutive home games for just the third time all season. Head coach Monte Ross believes this team has not shown how well it can shoot yet. In first meeting at Northeastern 11 days ago, all-conference F Courtney was limited to just 10 minutes due to foul trouble that included a first half technical and freshman starting PG Dawson, who had scored 19 points, missed the last 10 minutes of regulation and all of OT due to cramps. The recent matchup should help Delaware handle NE's tricky 3-2 zone better the second time around. Northeastern is just 5-24 on the road over the past two seasons and 0-4 on the road in CAA play this year. They have lost four of their last five games with only win coming at home in OT vs Delaware as described above. Expect the Blue Hens to turn the tables tonight and end a six game slide in this series. Give the points.
