Princeton (+10) at South Carolina - 4:00pm Pacific - Game #545-546 Princeton is off to a solid 7-3 start and is coming off their best all around performance of the season, an easy 61-45 win over Marshall. Head coach Joe Scott is in his third season now and has four returning starters from last year. Senior Justin Conway returned to the starting lineup vs Marshall after recovering from a stomach muscle injury. He had missed two games and had to come off the bench loss to Rutgers two games back. His presence is said to really help the offense run smoother. Princeton used their week off to fine tune their offense and it paid off vs Marshall as they shot 55% in the first half to take control of the game. Because of their style of play, Princeton tends to do well on the road. They are already 2-0 in true road games and 3-2 in neutral court games this season. South Carolina is 4-2 ATS but has relied heavily on inconsistent 3-point shooting. In the four games they have covered they have hit 9.5 3-pointers per game at a .395 clip. In their other four games (ugly losses to UC Irvine & Clemson, plus two non-lined games) they hit just 2.75 3-pointers per game at a miserable .157 clip. Princeton is one of the better teams in the country at defending 3-point shots as opponents have hit just .297 so far this season. South Carolina is somewhat similar to Princeton as they do not have any overpowering talent on their roster, but they do not possess the same type of discipline and execution as the Tigers. South Carolina has not played in 10 days and head coach Dave Odom noted in his press conference that his team was ansty and anxious to get home for Christmas. They better be fully focused on Princeton or they will have problems on both sides of the floor. Princeton always seems to get up to play the bigger name opponents and this is the first one on their schedule this season. Oddsmakers have posted the total at 104 which makes +10 huge in this matchup. Take the points. RAS Official Play: Princeton +10 1 UNIT UL Lafayette (+13) at Cal State Fullerton - 7:00pm Pacific - Game #551-552 The Ragin Cajuns added much needed reinforcements three games ago with the additions of top freshman recruit G/F Elijah Millsap (brother of Paul) and sophomore guard Derek Gray. Millsap has averaged 8.5ppg, 7.0rpg, and 2.0bpg in last two games and is already third on the team in scoring. Gray has already started once and is playing 17.0 minutes per game. Senior G/F Ross Mouton (19.1ppg) and junior guard David Dees (20.4ppg) have both been superb all season. ULL has played some tough teams including Tennessee & Nevada and despite their 2-8 record have been competitive in all but one game. They blew a seven point halftime lead vs Arkansas State on Sunday by giving up a 14-0 run to start the second half. Head coach Richard Lee kept his team in the locker room long after the end of that game and they will be looking to bounce back tonight. Fullerton can be very good and very bad at times, depending on their mood. They are well known for playing down to their level of competition as evidenced by their 0-3 ATS record as a double digit favorite last season. The Titans needed overtime to beat ULL in earlier meeting that was a back and forth game throughout the second half. Titan forward Scott Cutley scored 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds vs ULL in the first meeting but he may be limited Wednesday by a broken thumb on his left (non-shooting) hand. He is probable to play with a splint, but how effective he will be is a question mark. Reserve forward Chris Minardo (13.3 minutes per game) suffered a mild knee sprain in last game and will be limited if he plays at all Wednesday. ULL has the revenge motivation in their favor and should be confident they can compete after losing to Fullerton by just 2 in OT and having added two new impact players since. It is Christmas break and Fullerton is averaging just 517 fans per game so far so home court will not be a huge factor. Take the points.
