Cal State Fullerton at Eastern Washington (-5.5) - 7:05pm Pacific - Game #737-738
Eastern Washington sophomore guard Rodney Stuckey might be the very best player on the West Coast. He enters this game with a 26.6ppg average and is a men among boys at the college level. This year Stuckey has more supporting talent with the additions of JC transfer shooting guard Omar Krayem (14.8ppg) and freshman point guard Michael Taylor (second only to Stuckey in minutes played). The frontcourt returns all three starters led by 6-10 center Paul Butorac (11.3ppg, 11.8rpg). This is easily the best team Eastern Washington has had in years. They only have a 2-3 record heading into this game but all three losses came on the road at Gonzaga, at UNLV, and at Washington. They were tied with UNLV late in the game and last Friday led at Washington by 2 with 5:00 left to play. They have been improving with every game and tonight they return home to take on a much less talented opponent. EWU is 14-2 at home since Stuckey's arrival.
Fullerton survived in overtime by 2 at Louisiana Lafayette last week and now will take on a much stronger opponent. The Titans may be fatigued as this is their last stop on a 3 game, 8 day, 4 hotel, and 4 airline road trip. Last season the Titans pounded Eastern Washington 89-63 in a Bracket Buster game. In that game Rodney Stuckey was at less than 100% and Eastern Washington lacked effort as they had their focus on a tight conference race. Now Fullerton must make an inconvenient return trip and payback will be in order. Give the points.
