Long Beach State (+6.5) vs Pacific - 9:00pm Pacific - Game #545-546
Hats off to the Beach, it looks like this actually might be there year.  They have put together two straight thrilling victories over rivals Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine for a chance at the conference tournament title.  I attended LBSU's home game vs Pacific this year.  They played poorly most of the game but still had a 4-5 point lead with about 5 minutes to play before giving it away.  That game left me with little doubt that they can compete with Pacific and even the return road trip they only lost by 9.  Since the initial loss to Pacific, LBSU has come a long way.  They have now won 12 of their last 15 games.  Junior guard Aaron Nixon has emerged as a much needed go-to player and has been clutch in last two games.  LBSU has incredible depth so playing their third game in three nights should be only a minimal factor.  Pacific is nowhere near as good as they have been in recent years.  The Tigers really had to struggle to get by Cal Poly in the opening round last night and tonight they will face a much more talented team.  Expect a very close game.  Take the points.
