Texas A&M at Missouri (+3.5) - 5:00pm Pacific - Game #739-740
The last three weeks have been a mess for Missouri. A six game losing streak and embarrassing blowout loss at Baylor forced Quin Snyder to resign. The team won its first game under interim head coach Melvin Watkins before again being embarrassed last time out on the road vs a hot Kansas team by 33. They can only move forward off of that game. This team has talent and is not nearly as bad as their recent performances suggest. Missouri has proven to be a capable team with earlier home wins vs Kansas and Oklahoma State as well as a road win at Oklahoma. They come in to this game with a respectable 10-4 record at home.
Texas A&M comes in on a three game win streak but is still only 6-6 in conference play. The Aggies are just 2-5 on the road this year with their second win coming Saturday in a very hard fought 4 point win at Baylor.
This game carries added significance for Missouri. Interim head coach Melvin Watkins coached for six years at Texas A&M before resigning under pressure. He is responsible for recruiting A&M's two best players Acie Law and Joseph Jones. Current Tiger assistant Lance Irvin coached one year at A&M and Watkins brought his son Marcus to Missouri after playing two seasons at A&M. They are sure to want this game. In addition Missouri lost 91-63 at Texas A&M a year ago which will only add revenge fuel to the fire. Look for the Tigers to play the spoiler role well tonight. Take the points.
