*One play Monday:
Alabama at LSU (+1.5) - 6:00pm Pacific - Game #741-742
LSU is still not getting their due respect. They are 6-0 in SEC home games, have won 8 straight at home overall, and are fresh off back to back wins at Mississippi State (only team to win in Starkville this year) and vs Florida. There is little chance of a letdown tonight in front of a national television audience and a win here would really strengthen LSU's NCAA tournament chances. In 01/08/05 meeting in Tuscaloosa, LSU lost by 15 but the game was much closer than the final score indicates. It was actually a 1 point game in the second half before Bama went on a 17-0 run. LSU knows they can play with this team, are playing at a higher level now, and this time will be at home. Alabama is 10-2 in conference but really has had a favorable schedule. They are 4-2 in SEC road games with all four wins (at Tenn, at Ole Miss, at Auburn, at Arkansas) coming vs teams with a sub .500 conference record. Their two other SEC road games resulted in a loss at Vandy by 14 and a loss at Florida by 31. Up to this point Bama has gotten South Carolina & Miss State at home while not yet facing Kentucky. They are a solid team but not deserving of favoritism on the road in this matchup.
